Description
We love banana splits for their ability to combine two of our favourite things: fruit and ice cream. While we can't say the same for those dogs-that-look-like-lions, we do love combining a great workout and self-defence skills, like with today's WagJag: $19 for one month of karate plus a free Gi (uniform) at Tri-City Martial Arts (a $130 value).
Martial arts training has been practiced all over the world for many centuries, stemming from an inherent need for self-protection as well as a really cool way to break pesky boards and all those cinder blocks you've got sitting around. The CNGK approach to karate training is to balance all aspects of life in an effort to seek personal growth; basic conditioning exercises strengthen the body, Kata training develops memory and balance and Kumite practice develops perseverance and respect for others. Whether you are hoping to improve self-defence, strength, flexibility, cardiovascular health or self-confidence, two months of karate classes will help you achieve those goals. More than 1,000 sq. ft. of hardwood flooring offers plenty of room to comfortably explore the art of karate at your own pace.
Tri-City Martial Arts was founded in 2007 by Sensei Tom Cako, a third degree black belt (Sandan) and CNGK certified level one instructor. The spacious facility is located within walking distance of downtown Guelph and provides ample free parking. Classes are offered for children and adults, with a focus on personal development and improving fitness levels. Sensei Tom actually has had the privilege of traveling to Okinawa, to study with Hanshi Meitatsu Yagi, 10th dan, so the only trip you have to make to learn karate is to the Orange Hall at 375 Waterloo Avenue.
