Culinary fusion is an exciting way to spice up meal time, but should not be attempted without serious training, since lax cooking methods can lead to mutant vegetable-chicken hybrids that hunt and destroy the contents of the fridge at night. Visit some expert food fusionists instead with today's WagJag, and get a four-course prix fixe dinner for two at Senses Restaurant for $69 (normally a $145 value).
Feast your eyes (and mouth) on this downtown restaurant's exclusive prix fixe menu, a palatable melding of Eastern flavours and Western dishes designed by trailblazing Executive Chef Vincent Leung. A unique taste of Asian-French fusion begins with a choice of field greens or grilled romaine hearts, followed by either a creamy potato and leek or roasted red pepper and tomato soup. Sink into main options like the 10-ounce striploin steak, grilled to perfection with adornments of roasted garlic polenta and Dijon jus, or orzo pasta alongside grilled vegetables and baby arugula. A final dish of chocolate ganache tartlet with espresso ice cream ends the meal on a sweet note.
Located on the ground floor of the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel, Senses exudes a highly sophisticated aura, its intimate seating enclosed in a semi-private dining room dressed with warm cream and chocolate tones. At the bar, an extensive list of wines and cocktails promises to perfectly compliment whatever savoury blends grace your plate. The restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday, 6pm-10pm.

Reviews
"Focused on an appeal to the senses, Senses restaurant does just that. It may be a cliche to talk about meal as an instrument that hits all of the right notes, but Senses does indeed find the shades, variations and richness of an artful experience." - TripAdvisor
"We were attracted by the Winterlicious menu, and were not disappointed. A nice Burgundy was reasonably priced. The service was attentive and professional. A hostess thoughtfully reseated us in the quieter back room. Everyone had a great time. Parking is not expensive, and could not be more convenient." - OpenTable
