Whether you've been working on the railroad all the live long day, or riding around on your personal transporter all morning as part of your part-time mall security guard gig, today's WagJag promises to reward you for a job well done. Refuel at day's end with $35 for dinner for two at The Dining Car Restaurant at The Train Station Inn (a $70 value).
Indulge in a chow-down aboard a stationary choo choo with a choice of two entrees and two desserts from The Dining Car's menu of freshly-made, locally-sourced sustenance. You and a fellow passenger have the option of tucking into mains such as AAA tenderloin steak, poached Atlantic salmon, stuffed chicken breast, lobster pot pie, teriyaki stir fry and more - like the daily special, which for now remains a surprise. There are also three dessert choices that change daily.
Part of Tatamagouche's century-old Train Station Inn, The Dining Car Restaurant was built in 1928 and originally used by the Canadian National Railway. Since its refurbishing into an upscale dining facility in 2001, it's been doling out delectable dishes for lunch and dinner every year from May to October.
